Women’s Health and Probiotics

Our food has lost most of what was good for us. Food that comes fresh from the ground should be loaded with minerals, phytonutrients, probiotics, enzymes and antioxidants.

But even if you eat something “fresh”, odds are it lacks large quantities of what used to be considered really good food. It has been shown that “organically” grown food contains more nutrients and antioxidants than food grown under chemical conditions.

The term “probiotics” refers to dietary supplements or foods that contain beneficial, or “good,” bacteria that are similar to those normally found in your upper and lower instestines. These good bacteria also live in other place within our bodies, like our mouth, nose and vaginal area.

We would normally ingest these probiotic bacteria by eating raw foods. But in today’s world where large commercial farms grow most of our food, many women just are not getting enough raw fruits and vegetables to help resupply their bodies with the nutrients needed to fight off infections and disease.

Much like the intestinal tract, the vaginal environment is a finely balanced ecosystem and probiotics may also help vaginal problems. Probiotics have been shown to help with instestinal problems. Probiotic treatment that restores the balance of the good bacteria may be helpful for such common female problems like bacterial vaginosis, yeast infection, and urinary tract infection.

The dominant probiotic Lactobacilli strains normally make the vaginal environment too acidic for harmful bacteria and yeast to thrive. Your vaginal enviroment can easily be thrown out of balance by a number of influences that can include douches, chemicals, dyes, perfumes, antibiotics, spermicides, and birth control pills just to name a few.

Oral and vaginal administration of the probiotic Lactobacilli may help in the treatment of bacterial vaginosis or yeast infections, although doctors say there isn’t enough evidence yet to recommend it over antibiotics prescribed by doctors.

There is evidence that probiotics have been show to be helpful in boosting the general health of the body and with the following problems:

  • Treat diarrhea, especially following treatment with certain antibiotics
  •

  • Prevent and treat vaginal yeast infections and urinary tract infections
  •

  • Treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  •

  • Reduce bladder cancer recurrence
  •

  • Shorten the duration of intestinal infections
  •

  • Prevent and treat inflammation following colon surgery (pouchitis)
  •

  • Delay or prevent allergies in children
  •

  • Prevent eczema in children
  •

More research is needed to confirm the effectiveness of probiotics. As with any dietary or herbal supplement, consult your doctor before starting any new treatment.

Natural Acne Treatments

Filed under: Articles — admin @ 9:03 pm

For many the first thing they think when they hear natural acne treatment is a home remedy to their skin condition. How ever today natural treatment doesn’t me using some topical plants at all.The big beauty and skin care companies have realized that people don’t want to rub these harsh substances on their skin any more, even if it does mean clearing a breakout.

So we must ask, what other options do we have? The best alternative is a natural acne treatment that uses items found in nature, and non harsh cleansers to treat our acne both internally and externally.

Supplements and Capsule Acne Treatments

Several companies have created acne supplements to be taken each day just as a multi-vitamin would be.These acne supplements work on the basis that an imbalance in our body chemistry causes an over production of oil which ends up on our skin.

If we can fix that imbalance in our bodies then we can begin to heal our acne condition. Products to consider are Acnezine and Vilantae.

Natural Acne Treatments for the Skin

Beyond using an ingestible there are a variety of external products that are applied directly to the skin and will fight acne on the surface. To ensure you’re getting a natural product be sure to read a few acne treatment reviews of the product as well as get a complete list of the ingredients.

Try to find acne treatments that don’t use Benzoyl peroxide as the key ingredient, opt for something using Tea Tree oil if possible.

Give it time to work

It makes no difference whether it’s a cleanser, spot gel, or supplement, your priority with any acne treatment must be giving it time to do it’s job.Acne isn’t a condition that just disappears after one night of treatment.Treating severe cases of acne can take weeks or even months to clear up.

You should give yourself two months with any acne treatment you decide to try, this will give it enough time to either prove itself or not. Also another important point to make is that before try any acne medication or treatment you should ask your docotor about any possible side effects you might have to the ingredients.

Colon Cleanse My Way To Better Health

Filed under: Articles — admin @ 6:01 pm

Recently I discovered the idea of colon cleansing and started searching for a site that has good information about how to colon cleanse and maybe some product information. Luckily, I arrived at a great website that has both; a bunch of articles on colon cleansing and even lists product data.

One article that caught my attention is one that speaks about different colon cleanser options. I never realized it was more complicated than just taking a laxative, which by the way is not advocated. There is more to cleansing the colon than just going to toilet more often. That and possibly end up hooked on laxatives in the long run.

So in my quest to learn about colon cleansing and colon cleansers I found out quite a bit and avoided making a bad choice in how to go about the whole operation. The first being the laxative thing I already mentioned. Another is to be on the look out for herbal solutions that are really just laxatives in camouflage. The last thing I want is to think I’m are doing something sound and really just getting a laxative habit.

I see all the product makers hype weight loss as a side effect of a cleaning the colon. That’s not my first concern but it is a welcome side effect. Who wouldn’t enjoy a little extra weight loss in America today? If I can get fitter and lose a little weight at the same time, I’m in.

Here’s to greater health, a little weight loss and hoping that this cleaning the colon thing doesn’t leave me stuck to the tiolet for hours on end.

Obligatory medical disclaimer: speak to a medical professional before you dive into anything.  Be smart, your health is too important to mess around with.

Living Beyond Arthritis

Arthritis means pain and this could be anywhere in the muscles or the bones which the disease affects; the joints especially bear the brunt and are very painful. Cartilage between the bones is what makes sure that there is no pain thanks to the bones coming into contact with each other in our joints. They are like the glands in our body and the cells they are made of are called Chondrocytes. Dead chondrocytes are replaced with new cartilage cells.

The swelling that is caused due to arthritis damages more cells of the cartilage and most of the time the body takes time to generate new cells. This is more so if the body is undernourished and lacks the required nutrients to repair or the joint has suffered an injury. Instability, joint weakness and deformities can be caused by this condition which will start affecting normal day today activities. The traditional treatment to arthritis demands change of one’s lifestyle besides physical therapy and medication. Joint replacement surgery is a last resort after health care providers have tried other less intrusive interventions to relieve the discomfort.

There are two main categories that arthritis can be grouped into, these categories are based on the ‘generalized’ or ‘localized’ areas of the joints or body that have been affected and then they branch off into sub-categories. Localized arthritis affects the cartilage surrounding the joints and bones and includes conditions like bursitis and tendonitis. It could just be that the localized conditions could manifest themselves in just one of two joints being affected. Generalized conditions involve a sub category where there is no swelling or inflammation but the muscle and soft tissue are affected. The condition is not associated with joint damage; Fibromyalgia is a common type of arthritis that is placed under this category.

The second sub category is one where there is inflammation and the whole body is affected. Under this category, rheumatoid arthritis would be an example of a condition you would see, along with psoriatic arthritis and gout. Still other generalized situations include polymyositis, involving muscles, systemic lupus erythematosus involving the skin, kidneys and or other organs and vasculitis where any organ is involved.

An individual is capable of having more than just one arthritis type and it includes over one hundred different medical conditions that are known to affect roughly forty six million adults and three hundred thousand children within the United States. These conditions, though most common in adults over 60, mostly as osteoarthritis, can begin early on and even in infancy. The number of people suffering out of this condition is increasing proportionally with the increasing average age of the American population; with old age setting in people suffering with arthritis is increasing day by day.

S. and costs over 124 billion dollars a year in medical care and indirect expenses. Osteoarthritis can be prevented by taking a few precautionary measures; these include, maintaining suitable or appropriate body weight, and consuming plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, which are good sources for the vitamins C and D. Regular exercise and consumption of up to 1000 to 1500 mg of calcium per day for adults would help them avoid injuries caused by sports activities.

Daily Acne Skin Care

Acne skin care is – following daily skin care routines to the point. So let’s check out how acne skin care can be applied to our daily routine. Acne skin care is just a matter of choice, you can use acne skin care products that are being sold over the counter or acne skin care products that are natural like vitamins.

Vitamin supplements are very important for acne skin care because vitamins support the body’s ability to create energy for cellular processes and to provide the basic nutrients needed by our body. Acne skin care is also about keep your clothes clean and sleeping on clean pillows. Moreover, too tight clothes can make you sweat quickly, so wearing soft and comfortable cotton clothes are a good idea, especially if you already have acne.

Diet can be a big factor of the health of your skin. So if eat a lot of high fat, greasy foods then you may want to make some changes that will greatly impact your acne skin care. Diet: For a complete acne solution, try to avoid fats in your diet. Cook your meals with olive oils.

Avoid using regular soaps on your face because they tend to have chemicals, which aren’t good for your face, instead, use a cleanser that is suitable for your skin type and use regularly. Or just use plain water, this would be enough to keep your skin clean.

Avoid anything that makes your skin feel tight and dry . If the upper layer of skin has been treated so harshly that it has become dry and shrunken, the flow of oil will be restricted and even more blockages and breakouts will occur. To avoid stress and sleeplessness is another good way to acne skin care. Stress will start hormonal action, which can induce acne inflammation.

The Critical Role of Glutathione in Every Cell of Your Body

Most physicians are familiar with glutathione or l-glutathione in regards to its role in detoxifying Tylenol overdoses, and more recently its importance in the maintenance of T-cell competence in HIV.

The detrimental effects of “reduced” glutathione production in one’s cells is being linked to a striking array of illnesses. Boosting intracellular glutathione levels is proving to have a dramitic positive effect on natural healing and health maintenance.

Antioxidation

Glutathione is the major naturally occurring antioxidant present in our cells. Other antioxidants introduced through our diet such as vitamins C and E actually depend on GSH for their function and recycling within the cell.

The field of free-radical biology is exploding and the list of disease states linked to oxidative stress is rapidly growing. In the past 3 years over 38,000 scientific papers have been released dealing with glutathione and its effect on a significant number of these diseases.

Toxicology

Glutathione plays a key role in detoxifying environmental toxins, including heavy metals, fuel exhaust, and many by-products of cigarette smoke.

Immune Modulation

Lymphocytes, in particular T-cell subsets, have a high demand for glutathione in their function and replication. Reduced glutathione levels caused by an acute or chronic inflammatory process, aging or infection will lead to a poor immune response.

What is paradoxical is that as much as the body needs to have sufficient levels of glutathione, it is very difficult for the body to replace GSH through typical diets and supplementation when levels are low.

Glutathione vitamins, pills or supplements are ineffective and a waste of money since they are broken down before reaching the blood stream.

The pharmaceuticals currently used such as NAC (N-acetyl-cysteine) have effectively helped critical situations such as Tylenol overdose cases and cystic fibrosis, however, they have the disadvantage of having side effects and results are short lived.

An Effective Neutraceutical

The good news is, Dr. Gustavo Bounous and a research team at Montreal Hospital, the teaching hospital of McGill University in Montreal, Canada, developed a patented natural dietary supplement. Their many years of research led to a break-through discovery of a milk serum protein isolate. The resulting product is known as Immunocal®.

This product contains high amounts of glutathione precursors and both laboratory and clinical trials have documented the crucial role of this bio-active protein concentrate in promoting high cellular glutathione levels allowing for support of an efficient immune response. The precursors found in Immunocal® stimulate the cells to produce glutathione inside your cells and thus boost the immune system.

Clinical References

  • The 16th International Congress of Nutrition in Montreal, Canada conducted an open study using Immunocal with patients having Chronic Hepatitis B, and found significant improvement.

Baby Boomers & Anti-Aging

Filed under: Articles — admin @ 7:02 pm

As our lifespan increases so does our desire to remain active. We achieve this with anti-ageing products that synthesize the production of the protein collagen. Collagen is related to other Substances called anti-oxidants which help reduce the anti-ageing process.

One of the best known anti-oxidants is vitamin C and despite continual research, no-one body involved can decide just exactly how much our body should consume on a daily basis. The main problem when using any skin care treatments which use vitamin C is that oxidization can occur as soon as they have contact with the air.

More stable skin care treatments are now available that are almost as efficient and actually cost less to manufacture. However, these anti-ageing skin care treatments are not as effective vitamin C based products, although vitamin E and lipoic acid are also anti-oxidants and have similar effects.

It is found in the blood it is an anti-oxidant that is also used to increase the body’s defences against other diseases. It’s function is to provide energy and reverse much of the damage caused to the skin by ageing.

Phytochemicals form the other category of anti-ageing skin care products which are special chemicals that are extracted from plants with a variety of that are used in skin care today. Like lipoic acid, phytochemicals help reduce the occurrence of cancers such as prostate, breast and colon cancers.

Surprisingly, the group of vitamins; B5, B6, and B12 have also shown that they can be used to help reduce the effects of ageing. This is a vast area that has the potential for many new anti-ageing skin care products and services in the future but research needs to continue.

In time new discoveries will be made advancing our understanding of the ageing process and products that can reduce or reverse the effects more successfully. The amount of research going on in this field will undoubtedly bring results in time, hopefully bringing down the cost of these anti-ageing skin care products in addition to increasing their reliability.

In some respects the real way ahead lies in our own hands as there are many things we can do to reduce the signs of ageing naturally. So, drinking plenty of water, getting a good night’s sleep, exercising regularly, maintaining healthy eating habits and keeping stress at bay are essential means of delaying the ageing process.

Master Cleanse, A 5 Day Experiment

Filed under: Articles — admin @ 12:11 pm

During my research into fasting, I stumbled upon the Master Cleanse diet, and I found it to be highly regarded in the fasting world. Some of you may recall it as the same ‘diet’ Beyonce used to drop some weight for Dreamgirls .

Reports of other’s experiences were very encouraging to me and gave me an idea of what to expect. A few of the people who I spoke with about the master cleanse diet who had attempted it did not have the discipline to get by the first two or three days. I’ve fasted in the past and never could last without eating at all as most fasts require. The master cleanse at least allows some sustenance (the drink which uses lemons is why it is also known as the lemonade diet.)

The Master Cleanse follows a simple routine, however it isn’t exactly easy. The guidelines are simple, the will power required to succeed is another thing altogether. Though I found a great book called the Master Cleanse Secrets that gives lots of tips & advice to make it much, much easier.

One thing touted is the weight loss from the diet but that was never my main concern. I did it for the toxin cleansing benefits. I feel really tired and sluggish lately and enough people have told me how much better they feel after a fast that I went for it again.

From what I’ve been reading the typical amount of time spent on the master cleanse diet is ten days, although it is not uncommon for people to stay on the cleanse for longer periods of time. I had no intention of going longer than 5 days as a trial run to see how I reacted. Considering I never made it past 2 days before that was quite an accomplishment.

With the secrets book as my guide I was able to look up issues and find answers to questions that enabled me to stick with it. Just from reading it I had much more confidence in my chance of success. That confidence translated into success.

Luckily I went to see my doctor for a check-up recently so the timing was good. I strongly urge anyone interested in trying any kind of fast to speak with their doctor first to make sure everything is OK before diving in.

The final verdict: I feel much better after the 5 days and I am considering doing it again. Next time I will shoot for the full ten days. One suggestion I can offer is to take it easy when transitioning back into eating (the secrets book gives excellent guidance on this.)

Treating Cold Sores

You can usually get rid of a cold sore naturally within ten days or so. Many people choose to wait out their cold sores, just ignoring them until they go away. While that is OK for some, othewrs want to treat them straight away. There are many different types of cold sore treatment available, from antiviral pills to over the counter and prescription creams. Many people also use conventional pain relievers like aspirin and acetaminophen as cold sore treatment.

Often on the first outbreak people are often recommended to take antiviral medications. These pills are only obtainable by prescription, so the cold sore sufferer must consult a doctor first. Cold sore medication such as acyclovir or famciclovir can provide pain relief and reduce the healing time of a cold sore. If you want antiviral medication to be effective, start taking it as soon as the cold sore appears

There are several types of creams used to treat cold sores. Creams containing docosanol are particularly useful. Docosanol is used to fight against the HSV-1 virus that causes cold sores and it can soothe the pain as well as help heal the cold sore sooner. Other types of cold sore treatment include creams designed to numb the area surrounding the cold sore and moisturizer creams that help revitalize the skin around the cold sore. Lip balm can also prevent the cold sore from cracking open.

Many traditional pain relief medicines like acetaminophen, aspirin, and ibuprofen are great cold sore treatments. These medicines treat the inflammation, providing pain relief. While there is no cure for cold sores, there are several types of cold sore treatment that make having a cold sore a shorter experience.

Always, if possible consult with a doctor before starting on any course of treatment

Colon Cancer – Does Wheat Bran Reduce the Risk?

Filed under: Articles — admin @ 10:09 am

K-State, Wichita State collaborative research studies wheat bran from different wheat varieties, effect on suppressing colon cancer

MANHATTAN — We’ve heard the conflicting information: Wheat bran can reduce the risk of colon cancer in humans; wheat bran does not reduce the risk in humans.

But which one is true?

Both, sort of.

In the mid-1990s, grain science nutritionists at Kansas State University discovered that bran from one variety of wheat actually suppressed cancer in laboratory tests, while bran from another wheat variety did not.

According to Ronald Madl, director of bioprocessing and industrial value added programs with K- State’s department of grain science and industry, the confusion set in because the resulting medical literature really did not appreciate the genetic diversity in wheat — that not all wheat bran is the same.

“As a consequence, medical literature that followed the initial work sometimes said that wheat bran did suppress cancer,” Madl said. “Other medical literature said it did not suppress cancer.”

In a cooperative effort that picked up where that previous research left off, Madl and other researchers from K-State — including Carol Klopfenstein, professor emeritus of grain science and industry, Delores Takemoto, professor of biochemistry, and Weiqun Wang, assistant professor of human nutrition — joined with John Carter, associate professor of physical therapy at Wichita State, and discovered the diversity of phytochemicals in wheat bran. They tested about 120 varieties, all with different levels of antioxidants, from very high to very low. Further studies showed wheat bran with a higher antioxidant content demonstrated a potential to suppress cancer cells.

Madl said in subsequent testing on human cancer cells, the bran from high antioxidant wheat varieties either actually killed some of the cancer cells or stopped their growth; the medium and low antioxidant varieties had less of or no effect — the cancer cells kept growing like normal.

Further testing has shown that wheat high in antioxidants demonstrated a significant suppression in both size and number of tumors, while intermediate levels of wheat antioxidants experienced an intermediate level of cancer activity.

“Since then, we have been trying to move this research to the next stage, understanding which particular compounds are responsible for this benefit,” Madl said. “Antioxidant activity is expressed by a lot of chemical compounds, but that doesn’t mean that all antioxidants express that same beneficial, biological effect. Now, we’re trying to determine which antioxidants are actually responsible for cancer suppression.”

Madl said K-State wheat breeders would like to enhance the levels of antioxidants in wheat.

“The long-term opportunity is that we could produce new wheat varieties with higher levels of antioxidants, and then carry out research to show that these varieties can reduce cancer risk,” he said.

Madl said that once researchers have determined the wheat bran varieties with enhanced levels of antioxidants, clinical studies could be considered for humans to demonstrate if wheat bran could reduce the risk of colon cancer.

Madl said K-State research is currently focused on testing methodology. Development of more rapid screening methods for antioxidants in wheat could make the screening process for wheat breeders, as well as making the wheat selection process for food processors, quicker and more feasible.

Keys to Losing Weight

Filed under: Articles — admin @ 1:08 pm

The key to any weight loss is eating healthy and getting exercise. Eliminate fast food and any other fatty foods from your diet. It’s very difficult to achieve the weight loss cure without taking this step. The positive changes a person experiences during and after weight loss is enormous. It is for this reason why a lot of people are searching for quick effective weight loss techniques that will surely trim down those fats and get a healthier, happier body.

Weight loss is the result of a calorie deficit, so having more fat makes it harder. Actually losing FAT and not muscle requires a structured diet, including fat, but also some slow release carbs and lots of protein, weight training and a small calorie deficit. Losing weight is generally seen as primarily being a female issue, but everyone knows that it is not. Be that as it may, I have trouble picturing a room full of men discussing their love of ice cream, cellulite, chocolate binges, emotional eating and so on, of course on there way to learning how to lose weight fast. However, the concept of weight loss is very basic, burn more calories than you ingest and your body will react accordingly. Unless you have a something else going on like a medical disorder, this formula works for just about anyone.

Green tea weight loss is safe, effecting and can if used consistently assist with a permanent weight loss. With a quick search on the internet you would come to know that herbal weight loss is possible through herbal products such as Hoodia, Dandelion, Pyruvate, Aloe Vera. However, before opting for herbal weight loss products, it is necessary for you to consult with a herbal practitioner.

Now when it comes to weighing yourself, scale weight does not tell you if weight loss is from fat, water or muscle tissue. Scale weight by itself is not a good indicator of success. Losing weight and maintaining that weight loss is one of the greatest challenges any individual can undertake. Along with proper diet and exercise, a colon cleanse will help you achieve your weight loss goals and provide you with a cleaner, healthier body. Whether or not your goal is to lose weight fast or to simply become more caring of the workings of your internal systems and body overall.

Three Parts to Clear Acne with Proactive Solution

Filed under: Articles — admin @ 11:22 am

Statistics show that virtually all young adults suffer from acne at some point or another and up to 40% of adults experience a few episodes of breakouts as well. There is no known cure for acne but there are countless treatments for the skin problem, resulting in a billion dollar market worldwide. One of these treatment plans, Proactive acne solution, has been very successful in clearing up mild to moderate acne in many people young and old.

The Proactive acne solution treatment is not recommended for severe nodular or cystic acne but for the majority of the population who have the mild to moderate cases it has been a godsend for many. It is a simple three part process that must be completed twice a day for maximum effectiveness. Many people show great progress in one to two weeks with Proactive acne solution.

The Three PartProcess

Proactive acne solution consists of three different products which work to stop the acne causing bacteria in its tracks. The first part in the treatment plan is the renewing cleanser which contains the main ingredient benzoyl peroxide. The cleanser in the Proactive acne solution treatment contains tiny particles of grain which act as a gentle exfoliator to remove dead skin cells, unclog skin pores and work deeply to lead a bacteria attack.

The second step in the Proactive acne solution treatment is made up of a refreshing toner which is alcohol-free. The toner serves to remove dead skin cells and maintain a balance in your skin tone all the while prepping the skin for the next phase – the repairing lotion.

The third part of the Proactive acne solution uses a lotion with tiny pulverized benzoyl peroxide that works its way into the pores to stage a defense against the bacteria. This repairing lotion will help heal acne you already have as well as thwart new acne from popping up.

Other Important Information

The Proactive acne solution was developed by two dermatologists who spent years studying ingredients to come up with an effective option for clearing up acne. This three-step treatment plan uses prescription quality benzoyl peroxide to kill the bacteria as well as other natural ingredients like chamomile and aloe to prevent your skin from drying.

A refining mask is also available to complement the Proactive acne solution and it works to enhance the positive effects of the treatment. The mask is soothing and includes sulphur, a common ingredient used for years in the treatment of acne. The sulphur in the Proactive acne solution mask refines the pores of your skin and gives the healing power of the whole process a boost.

In order for Proactive acne solution to work its magic and give you clearer skin, you should use the products twice a day – once in the morning and once at night before bed time. Being consistent over time with this treatment plan is the key to clear, healthy skin.

Acne Skin Care and Your Diet

Filed under: Articles — admin @ 10:11 am

The general medical consensus is that diet does not cause acne but there are those who disagree with this assessment and assert that diet has everything to do with acne.

For More Information Visit:

For many years it was accepted everywhere and by everyone that consumption of chocolate and junk food was what actually caused acne or had any effect on the severity of acne.

That theory has been proven to not be true by modern research but there are those who claim that the research is faulty and that acne is, in fact, if not caused by diet at least exacerbated by diet.

Refined sugar is believed to be one of the major contributing factors of how severe a case of acne will become by those who adhere to the belief that food and acne are related.

These sources say that you should reduce your intake of refined sugars and substitute artificial sweeteners or natural sweeteners like honey for all refined sugar in your diet to help reduce the severity of acne out-breaks.

Another dietary culprit is believed to be nuts, or rather the oil that is found in nuts and
especially peanuts.

Those who have acne, says the proponents of the diet/acne connection should avoid peanuts in all forms including peanut butter.

Milk should be used only in very small amounts and intake should be greatly restricted, is another recommendation.

Milk comes from cows, usually pregnant cows and contains large amounts of hormones that are believed to actually be one of the causes of acne.

Take a look at:

The anti-acne diet that is recommended is high in salmon, halibut, tuna, sardines, fresh organically grown vegetables, and whole grains.

The diet that is recommended is a very healthy one and whether it actually prevents acne or not, it is a good one.

The fish that are recommended are all very high in omega-3 which is known to promote healthy skin.

How to Choose the Best eye Cream

Filed under: Articles — admin @ 12:49 pm

If you are looking for the best eye cream for your skin, reading what we have to say is the biggest step to get you closer to your goals.

So, how did we come to the conclusion of which eye creams work, and which do not? We focus on three factors that every person should know about anti aging cosmetic products:

1. Results
2. Results
3. Results.

You need to have all three from different sources.

First, you need to get results based on what you see on the back of their labels. These ingredients need to be those that have been proven to provide you with results.

The top anti aging creams will always have anti-oxidants. These ingredients should have undergone studies not housed in their companies in order to get unbiased results, and should be advised by dermatologists.

Second is results from what you see on your skin. If the eye cream has worked for your friend, but gave absolutely no changes to your skin, it’s actually not the best eye cream for you. After the appropriate time, you have to see a reduction of lines, improved skin color and texture and the like. In other words, results.

The third is results based on how your skin feels. There are some eye cream out there that do give the first two factors, it has a few ingredients that work, and does make your skin look healthier, instantly in fact. But do these eye creams actually work? Find out about these eye creams here.

Brazilian Acai Fruit

Although the tribes of the Amazon jungle in Brazil explored the benefits of Acai berry for thousands of years, it was only after 1990 that it was revealed to the Western world for the first time. Initially, the Acai berry was discovered to offer antioxidant properties and to aid in managing cholesterol level naturally. Following its revelation to the Western world, researchers realized that the fruit is a great source of natural energy.

One of the chief health benefits of Acai juice is that it improves digestive function and improves mental clarity. It promotes sound sleep and boosts natural energy levels. Acai juice provides all of our vital vitamins and contains many important minerals that are needed in our bodies. It also cleanses and detoxifies the body of infectious toxins, as well as strengthening the immune system which enhances your sexual desire and performance.

Goji Berry Plants

Traditionally a juice that the Chinese and the natives of Tibet used for promoting general wellness, Himalayan goji juice is becoming more popular in the west due to very recent commercialization efforts. However, as the name implies, the best berries that are purported to make the best Himalayan goji juice, are grown in some areas close to the Himalayan mountains and Tibet, particularly in China and Inner Mongolia.

Noni Juice Benefits

Tahitian Noni Juice is a great product that has so many amazing health benefits. It is made from the fruit of the noni tree, but Tahitian Noni Juice only uses noni fruits from the islands of Tahiti. On Tahiti, the soil is always fertile, so they grow a lot of noni trees. The natives of Tahiti have used noni fruits and their juices for many healthy purposes, for many years. Tahitian Noni juice is a great way to help benefit your over-all health; plus it tastes good!

Tahitian Noni Juice’s research also suggests that their noni juice products can help strengthen an immune system. Tahitian Noni Juice also contains anti-oxidants that help you live longer and look younger. Noni juice is also, supposedly, very good for the heart. Noni juice has been used for centuries for a variety of ailments, but Tahitian Noni Juice has backed up their claims with solid research that should be taken very seriously.

Hair Replacement

There are many products offered to men and women these days on how to best battle their hair loss. There are quite a few different products.

One is the topical lotions and creams. Monoxidil is the most well-known, and there are many generic versions on the market. Some people do have some success with Monoxidil, but it demands quite a bit of discipline to constantly apply it, and it is not something you want to put on just before you run out the door in the morning. If your hair is thinning, you probably want your hair to be freshly shampooed and full-looking. Having Minoxidil on your hair is not going to give your hair the greatest look. Another thing about Minoxidil is that it only works for a small percentage of users, and it is best to use it when your hair is just starting to thin. Also, Minoxidil doesn’t work for the hairline – it is only advertised as effective on the crown (back) of the head.

There are other lotions and creams besides Minoxidil, and their effectiveness is varied. Most of these topical formulas are Minoxidil-based, or have a similar effectiveness rate.

One hair loss treatment that has vastly improved in recent years is hair replacement. Companies like Bosley started doing this procedure is the 70’s. The novelty back then was that it actually worked – you could take a strip of living hair from the bottom of the back of the head, and surgically implant it into the balding areas and it would “take root” and permanently grow. The only problem with this is that there was little attempt back then to make it look natural. Thus, “hair plugs” got a bad name, and the hair restoration industry has been trying to shake off that stigma ever since.

These days, hair replacement emphasizes natural-looking hairlines, and the results are not only natural-looking, but fast and permanent. For men who don’t want to be a slave to a topical ointment that has very limited effectiveness, hair replacement is the best modern option. Click on any of the above links to find out more.

Pregnancy Yeast Infection

A yeast infection is not an early sign of pregnancy, and the existance of the condition cannot cause a pregnancy test to be erroneously positive either. Usually, only pregnancy causes positive test results. A pregnancy yeast infection can be caused by being pregnant (or other hormonal changes) though.

Is Pregnancy Possible with a Yeast Infection?

Yeast infections cannot harm your chances of getting pregnant. There are some people that say if you have the infection for a long period of time without it being treated it can cause problems, but this is extremely rare and highly unlikely.

Is It Common During Pregnancy for a Yeast Infection?

It is said that 20% of woman will get a pregnancy yeast infection because of increase in hormones and bacteria.

It is generally not harmful to an unborn baby but should be treated more carefully, so you won’t pass the infection to your baby during the birth. Left untreated, the baby could develop the yeast infection in the form of thrush in the mouth. This is not dangerous to the baby and is easily treated should it occur.

What Are The Symptoms?

The symptoms of a pregnancy yeast infection generally build up over 1 to 3 days, and include an intense vaginal itch, irritation, soreness, burning and redness in the vagina, and a thick, white vaginal discharge. If you have any or all of these symptoms, it is advisable to seek further advice and guidance from your local physician. Don’t leave it unchecked.

How Do You Treat a Pregnancy Yeast Infection?

Yeast infections may be harder to control when you’re pregnant. They may require frequent treatment or longer treatment (10 to 14 days instead of 3 to 7 days).

Vaginal creams or suppositories used for treatment are safe during pregnancy, although most physicians recommend avoiding treatment during the first trimester. If you develop a yeast infection, it is safe for you to use over-the-counter products, such as Monistat. However, if you are early in your pregnancy (i.e. before 12 weeks), use the cream externally only. After 12 weeks, it is safe to gently use the applicator internally.

If you don’t have success with over-the-counter medication, you may want to try Boric acid, which is very mild. It won’t harm you but will alter the vaginas pH level slightly discouraging yeast growth. Probiotics are also useful in combating pregnancy yeast infections since they build up your healthy bacteria.

Colon Cleansing, A Journey Of Discovery

I recently learned about the idea of cleaning the colon and started looking for a website that has good information about how to colon cleanse and maybe some product information. Fortunately, I arrived at a great site that has both; a lot of articles on colon cleaning and even has product data.

Something that got my attention is that they have complete product information on different colon cleanser options. I never realized it was more complex than just making a laxative, which by the way is not recommended. There is more to colon cleansing than just going to bathroom more frequently. That and possibly end up dependent on laxatives in the long term.

The products listed on the site look like they are really good quality. The one that really caught my attention is ultimate colon cleanse. It is nice to have the choices whittled down to a few reputable manufacturers. It feels like there are thousands of them out there.

So in my pursuit to learn about colon cleansing and colon cleansers I found out quite a bit and averted making a poor choice in how to go about the whole operation. The first being the laxative thing I already brought up. Another is to be on the look out for pills that are really just laxatives in camouflage. The last thing I want is to think I’m are doing something good and really just developing a laxative habit.

I see all the product makers hype fat loss as a side effect of a cleaning the colon. That’s not my first concern but it is a welcome side effect. Who wouldn’t enjoy a little extra weight loss in America today? If I can get fitter and lose a little weight at the same time, I’m in.

Do speak to a medical professional before you dive into anything. Be smart, your health is too important to mess around with.

Natural Yeast Infection Remedy

A natural yeast infection remedy is often the preferred treatment for the condition as these do not have the same side effects as non-natural medications. Most yeast infections occur in people whose immune systems are compromised and/or whose intestinal flora is out of balance. To keep yeast infections at bay it is important to build a strong immune system and keep your intestinal flora balanced. It is recommended to boost ones immunity with extra doses of vitamin D and zinc.

Is It Safe to Use a Natural Yeast Infection Remedy?

Any of the suggested natural yeast infection remedies are completely safe to use. And unlike some prescription medications, there are no known negative side-effects.

Don’t use antibiotic cream or antibacterial soap! Yeast is a fungal infection, not a bacterial infection.

What is the best Natural Yeast Infection Remedy?

Believe it or not acidophilus-containing yogurts, garlic and unsweetened cranberry or blackberry juice should be ingested regularly as they have been shown to prevent and reduce yeast infections. The acidophilus bacteria is found naturally in yogurt and some cheeses and is known to combat yeast infections. There are also some acidophilus supplements that may help with the production of acidophillus.

Go to the store and buy a small carton of “plain” yogurt — doesn’t matter whether it is name brand or store brand or is nonfat, lowfat or wholefat because you are NOT going to eat it. But make sure it is PLAIN with NO fruit, NO added sugar (milk sugar listed on the carton doesn’t count of course), and NO flavoring in it of ANY type.

Alternatively, find a fresh clove of garlic and carefully peel the skin off of it. Be careful not to damage the clove as you peel it as the juices from the garlic sting some people. Try applying a thin layer and massaging it deep into the skin to heal and soothe the affected area.

Many antibiotics, like penicillin, are based on the bacteria-killing chemicals found in fungi. They kill off natural bacteria, creating space for fungi to move in. Probiotics, sometimes referred to as “friendly” bacteria, suppress the growth of potentially harmful organisms, which is why probiotic supplements have been explored as a natural yeast infection remedy.

If you are in any way uncertain, consult a health care provider to modify your diet and/or treat this condition directly with an effective, all natural yeast infection control product.

Thinning Hair in Women

Filed under: Articles — admin @ 12:36 pm

Baldness and hair loss in men is very common and almost taken for granted, even if some men do feel self conscious about it and search for a way how to prevent hair loss, however receding or thinning hair does occur in women too, and can be extremely damaging to the self esteem as first of all it is not very common and secondly a womans hair is a large part of how a woman likes to present herself to the world.

As a female, if your hair does start to have bald patches in it you should just quickly check a couple of things before coming to the overall conclusion that your hair is actually thinning. You should take time out and think about lifestyle really, are you stressed or is your diet poor? What about your hairstyle have you been wearing a style that pulls on your hair or getting lots of colors done? Although things like this may not seem relevant, they are and can have an effect on your hair.
Of course, these things may not apply to you, so in that case there could be something hormonal happening within your body as hormones have a huge effect on many things within the body and one of them being hair.

Following are some of the common things that can happen to a woman to adjust hormones and interfere with the hair growth.

One of the first areas to look at is if you are going through the menopause. Menopause has a big impact on hormones and especially in slowing production of them down. This is probably more common than you would imagine and can effect up to about two thirds of women and leave them with bald patches of some degree in their post menopausal stages. Probably one of the most common ways this is treated by the medical profession is with HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy). The actual hormone imbalance that occurs in the female during menopause which can cause hair loss can be explained as follows:-

Basically, before menopause a women will produce both estrogen and testosterone hormones. But the estrogen will not allow testosterone to be converted and move around the body as it acts in a way like a barrier. When the menopause starts, the production of estrogen diminishes and this can allow testosterone to have a bit more of a free reign. This in turn can turn into DHT which is a high amount of testosterone and if there are areas of the scalp sensitive to this then this can lead to hair loss.

If a woman is unfortunate enough to have to undergo a hysterectomy, then this too can be a bit like going through the menopause as again there is really little or no estrogen being produced, and this too is going to lead to a higher probability of hair loss.

The final big upheaval in a woman which causes massive hormonal change is pregnancy, and this can really play tricks with the hair. When a woman becomes pregnant there are huge amounts of changes that start to occur within the body as you can probably well imagine. During the pregnancy thick hair can thin and thin hair can thicken, straight hair can become curly and vice versa. Some women claim their hair is never the same again after pregnancy and this is all down to their hormones.

This is not an exhaustive list of hormone changes that can cause hair loss in women but it covers the most common, however remember if you are not menopausal, pregnant or had a hysterectomy and are losing hair, then remember to check your lifestyle, particularly your stress levels and diet and you may want to think about having some vitamins for good hair growth.

Men and Yeast Infection

For many men yeast infection happens when the way they eat and live makes their bodies perfect hosts for the yeast bacteria. These then multiply way beyond their limits, and start to take over your body.

It is also known as candidiasis because the infection is caused by Candida fungus which is normally present in our body but imbalance in the body system allows Candida to grow out of control and leads to yeast infection. Infection may occur in moist areas of the body like the mouth and genital area which are the perfect home for the fungus.

Friendly bacteria that are present in the digestive tract keep Candida at low levels by feeding on the yeast. These friendly bacteria are killed by antibiotics, cortisone and chemotherapy, etc.

Men who are uncircumcised are at a greater risk of having a yeast infection because the skin folds of the foreskin are hard to keep clean, are moist, and can become a breeding ground for fungus. Also, men who are diabetic or have a disease or illness that lowers the immune system are also more at risk for contracting a yeast infection.

It is possible for men to get a yeast infection from sexual intercourse, but this doesn’t mean it is a sexually transmitted disease.

For some men yeast infection symptoms are similar to those in women: itching, irritation, slight discharge, sores on the foreskin, pain during sexual intercourse, and appearance of a white cheese-like material. Physically, it can cause dryness and itching of the skin. It can also cause digestive disorders and constipation.

The type of treatment you need, will depend on the type of yeast infection you have, although natural remedies have proven to very beneficial. Garlic, yogurt, tea tree oil, oregano oil, aloe vera and other home remedies have proven to be effective for men with yeast infection.

Medications may temporarily get rid of the symptoms and offer short-term relief, but the root cause of the problem, the yeast spores, remains and inevitably will lead to future outbreaks. If you find that the over the counter medications aren’t working or that your yeast infection is recurring you may need more effective treatment that only a doctor can prescribe.

Whilst you are treating men yeast infection, it is advisable to use a water soluble lubricating gel during sex and always wear condoms too, to avoid passing the infection onto your partner.
